For a limited time from April 1st to 30th, The Lounge at Hoshino Resorts Karuizawa Hotel Bleston Court will be introducing the "Strawberry Cherry Blossom Viewing Basket," a strawberry dessert course designed to resemble a cherry blossom viewing bento box.


Served in a wicker basket, the "Strawberry Cherry Blossom Viewing Basket" is a bite-sized strawberry dessert course consisting of six dishes: amuse-bouche, appetizer, soup, main course, and dessert. From April 1st, the hotel will be decorated with cherry blossoms, giving you the feeling of a cherry blossom viewing picnic, even before the cherry blossoms in Karuizawa bloom.


Opening the drawer of the box in the basket reveals two amuse-bouches: "Strawberry Cheese Cookies," a combination of strawberry jelly and slightly salty cookies, and "Strawberry and Rape Blossom Financier," a combination of strawberries, honey mousse, and rape blossoms.


Next, lined up on top of the box are three dishes: an appetizer, soup, and main course. The appetizer is "Strawberry and Sakura Blancmange (a frozen dessert made from almond milk solidified with gelatin)," a combination of sweet and sour strawberry and red currant jam and cherry blossom-flavored blancmange. The soup is "Strawberry Carbonated Soup," a refreshing dish made with strawberries simmered overnight, lemon, and red currants mixed with carbonated water. The main course is "Sakura Riolli with Strawberry Cream," a sweet rice simmered in milk and lemon jelly, topped with strawberry cream.

The course concludes with a dessert of "Strawberry and Sakura Ice Cream," a two-layer ice cream topped with strawberries and cherry blossoms.
