Jun Okamoto's first show, themed "Flowers/Balloons/Rain Man," was inspired by a story written in the designer's blog. The show began with a young girl dancing on a carpet of flower petals in the center of the catwalk, accompanied by Glenn Gould's 1980 recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations. Both men's and women's looks featured neutral tones, complemented by blue, yellow, and pink. Washed and light fabrics were used throughout. Men's wear featured rolled-up hems and sleeves, evoking a boyish aesthetic through styling and color. Women's wear featured feminine details such as gathers and ruffles. This season's signature flower and balloon prints, created in collaboration with an artist based on the story, were also incorporated into trendy colored tights. In January 2012, Jun Okamoto was selected as a recipient of Japan's first fashion fund, "FIGHT FASHION FUND," sponsored by Parco. Designer Jun Okamoto spoke of his future aspirations, saying, "I don't think this will be a one-time runway project, and I would like to continue doing it in the future."
