CUNE, a brand that touts its "barely clothing," held its first-ever show at Shibuya Hikarie. The brand kicked off with a series of upside-down dog prints amid thunderous background music. Each season features a unique theme, but for Spring/Summer 2013, the theme was "creepy." The first half of the men's collection featured a succession of pop and kitschy patterns—bug cages, callused fingers, bread, Guns N' Roses, kiwis, bath tile, and police officers—appearing on a variety of items, including T-shirts, shorts, and shirts. Cross-stitch prints also appeared, such as a tank top layered over a bolero-length shirt with a mackerel print. The pattern matching was flawless, with meticulous attention to detail. Similar prints continued in the second half of the women's collection, incorporating them into the balance of long tops and skinny pants, as well as 1960s-inspired color-blocked dresses. The accessories include necklaces and earrings made from fishing lures.

It's not just the textiles that are creepy. There are also witty details, such as buttons that are off-center and pocket flaps that are placed higher than usual, making them merely decorative. The brand doesn't appear in the media, but they are particular about the quality of their products.
