Aug 28, 2019
Toraya will be releasing chestnut sweets, a symbol of autumn, one after another from September. Fresh sweets and goods designed by minä perhonen will also be available.

"Ritto" (540 yen)
Toraya is particular about its chestnut sweets, and uses only domestically grown fresh chestnuts harvested that year, which allows you to enjoy the chestnut flavor to the fullest. A series of limited-edition products will be released, available only during this season, allowing you to enjoy autumn.

The three items designed by minä perhonen are fresh sweets, furoshiki cloths, and drawstring bags. "Ritto" (540 yen) is a light and fluffy sweet made with matcha-flavored Ukishima dough, sandwiching crumbled gozen bean paste and candied chestnuts. You can enjoy the richness of eggs and the flavor of matcha along with the chestnuts. It will be sold at the Akasaka store, Tokyo Midtown store, and Isetan Shinjuku store on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays in October, as well as on the 14th. It will also be sold at the Festival Plaza on the 9th floor of the Hankyu Umeda Main Store from October 23rd to 28th, and at the Kyoto Ichijo store on October 29th.

Furoshiki Cloths Left: "kurikasane" (1,800 yen), Right: "kurikomon" (1,200 yen)
The furoshiki cloths come in two varieties: "kurikasane" (1,800 yen) features a geometric pattern with organic curves combined with the wide-open shapes of chestnuts, and the playful "kurikomon" (1,200 yen) features a scene of plump chestnuts rolling around with the word "kuri" written in small letters. They will be available from October 1st to 31st. Please note that neither product will be sold at all stores. Both products are limited in number and will end when they are sold out.

"Drawstring Pouch" (10,000 yen)
The "Drawstring Pouch" (10,000 yen) resembles a sweet, plump chestnut, and the body and lining are made of silk, with the chestnut seat made of soft leather. The deep autumnal color scheme and "forest parade" lace featuring swaying forest creatures create a design that evokes a forest scene. There are four types: dark brown, mustard, green, and navy. The items will be on sale at the Akasaka store, Tokyo Midtown store, Isetan Shinjuku store, and Kyoto Ichijo store from October 1st to 31st, and at the Festival Plaza on the 9th floor of Hankyu Umeda Main Store from October 23rd to 28th. Due to limited quantities, sales will end once sold out, and each person will be limited to one item of each color.
