Tiit, making its first appearance at Tokyo Fashion Week, presented its Spring/Summer 2013 collection. Designers Sho Iwata and Hiroshi Takizawa created the theme "intellectual flowers." Inspired by freelance career women, the collection blended various elements—their intelligence, strength, and fragility—to create a new image of femininity. The collection kicked off with a white dress featuring different fabrics on the front and back. The first half of the collection featured a soft, pale look in pale tones of white, light gray, mint green, and salmon pink. Soft materials like chiffon, seersucker, and soft knits were used. The second half featured bolder colors like black and red, featuring sharp pants and dresses. Accents included large ruffles, cuffed accessories, and detachable squid chests. "I used details and textures to create an imbalance, expressing both the intellectual and the slightly dark side that accompanies it," said Iwata. Her hair and makeup were also applied to create a haggard look, making for a witty collection for a newcomer.
