The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto (located on the banks of the Kamogawa Nijo Bridge in Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto City) will be offering an afternoon tea featuring chocolate sweets created by Pierre Hermé, a global pastry chef who has reached the pinnacle of the patisserie world, from January 18, 2023. The menu will also be available as a takeout afternoon tea presented in The Ritz-Carlton's iconic "Memorable Blue" box.
The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto is the only hotel in western Japan with a Pierre Hermé Paris pastry chef on-site, and offers afternoon tea with different flavors for each season. The Valentine's Afternoon Tea, which begins on January 18th, will focus on sweets made with chocolate. Among the seasonal items are the Tarte Mogador, which combines passion fruit-flavored milk chocolate ganache with roasted pineapple, and the Mille-feuille Plenitude, which features chocolate-flavored mascarpone cream sandwiched between caramelized pie. Pierre Hermé Paris' classic "Ispahan," garnished with a bright red rose, will add a touch of elegance to your afternoon tea. Enjoy it alongside savory dishes such as the "Rape Blossom, Prosciutto, Olive, and Sour Cream Croissant Sandwich" created by the chef of The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto, and the "Smoked Salmon and Avocado Salad with Pickled Root Vegetables," decorated with a charming heart.
