Louis Vuitton has perpetuated the essence of personalization by launching its "Haute Parfumerie" fragrance made-to-order service in collaboration with the Maison's in-house Master Perfumer, Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, and has now begun accepting orders in Japan.

It all began in Grasse, southern France, a city with a long history of thriving perfume and leather goods industries, at Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud's creative atelier, Les Fontaines Parfumées, where exquisite fragrances have been concocted for the Maison since 2012. Now, following in the footsteps of the tradition of special orders that has been deeply rooted in Louis Vuitton's DNA since 1854, Jacques is opening a Made-to-Order atelier to create unique fragrances personalized to each client's desire.

This unique and exclusive opportunity aims to create a olfactory portrait of the client. Jacques Cavallier Belletrud will consult with the client on everything from their preferences and memories to their lifestyle and olfactory habits. In the process, an authentic and intimate collaboration between Jacques and the client will take place. After this exclusive consultation, Jacques will begin creating the perfume in his workshop, Les Fontaines Parfumées, in Grasse, and will create several formulations.

To do this, Louis Vuitton travels to the far reaches of the world to select the finest ingredients and create the olfactory variations that best suit each client's personality. The nuances of the scent are then refined down to the smallest detail, resulting in a truly bespoke composition.
A Showcase of Excellence
It takes several months to finalize the fragrance formula. It is then hand-mixed in Atelier d'Art, a new space at the heart of Les Fontaines Parfumée, dedicated to made-to-order fragrances.
Meanwhile, the fragrance trunk will be crafted in the historic Asnières workshop, where all Louis Vuitton special orders are crafted. This unique, personalizable trunk can accommodate four 100ml bottles, three 200ml bottles, one 100ml travel case, one travel spray, and 16 refills.

To this day, the atelier's skilled artisans craft trunks and special orders for travelers around the world.
