Fashion designer Keita Maruyama will be appearing as a guest on the TV program "Another Sky" (Nippon TV), airing today (May 22nd). This marks the first time the program has focused on a fashion designer since its inception. After graduating from a fashion school, Keita Maruyama worked for an apparel manufacturer and then became a freelance designer, designing the stage costumes for "DREAMS COME TRUE." In 1994, he launched his own brand, "KEITA MARUYAMA TOKYO PARIS," and three years later made his Paris Fashion Week debut. In 2014, marking the 20th anniversary of his debut, he partnered with Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings to hold a large-scale archive exhibition. He has also attracted attention for his work on stage costumes for artists such as Ayumi Hamasaki and uniform designs for the JAL (Japan Airlines) Group. This time, Keita Maruyama visited Paris, France, a city he has a deep connection with and admires. He reunites with designer Takada Kenzo, whom he regards as his "spiritual mentor" - looking back on his challenges at Paris Fashion Week, his successes and setbacks, and the path he has taken so far, he talks about his feelings at the time, as well as his new determination for the future.
"Another Sky," featuring Maruyama Keita, will be broadcast on Nippon Television from 11:35pm on May 22nd.
