Dior will hold its first-ever men's pre-fall collection fashion show in Tokyo on November 30th.

The house's founder, Christian Dior, was captivated by Japan's traditions and modern spirit from a young age, and is said to have been influenced by Japanese culture since the company's founding. Indeed, the brand's ties to Japan are deep and long-standing, as seen in its past "Jardin Japonais (Japanese Garden)" collection and a dress titled "Tokyo and Utamaro - The Ukiyo-e Painter Who Enthralled Dior Since Childhood," which featured fabrics from Kyoto's prestigious Tatsumura Textiles. Regarding this show, which celebrates the historical ties between the Maison and Japan, Dior CEO Pietro Beccari commented, "I am honored to present my first-ever men's pre-fall collection in Tokyo. Creativity, innovation and savoir-faire are all values deeply rooted in Japanese culture and are very important to us." Kim Jones, who became Artistic Director of Dior Menswear this year, also shared his thoughts on the show, saying, "I am presenting my first Dior men's pre-fall collection at a show, and the best way to commemorate this is with a fashion show in Tokyo. Japan is a country I know well and particularly love. Its amazing and unparalleled culture, history and nature have always been so fascinating and inspiring."

In addition, it was announced that a pop-up store will open at the Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building for two weeks from November 28th. The pop-up store will display the Dior Men's 2019 Summer Collection designed by Kim Jones ahead of its worldwide release on December 1st. Additionally, the flagship store, House of Dior Ginza, will also begin pre-sales of the capsule collection on the same day.
