Don Quijote redevelops the former Shibuya store site, building a high-rise building with a hotel, shops, and offices

Don Quijote Holdings has announced that it will redevelop the area surrounding the former Don Quijote Shibuya store in Shibuya, Tokyo, and open a complex containing a hotel, shops, and offices in 2022.

In recent years, large-scale development has been underway around Shibuya Station, with several new towers scheduled for completion in the future. The newly announced "(Tentative Name) Shibuya Ward Dogenzaka 2-Chome Development Plan" involves the redevelopment of the former Don Quijote Shibuya store and its surrounding area.

The building, to be constructed on a 5,737-square-meter site, will have 28 floors above ground, one basement floor, a height of 120 meters, and a total floor space of 40,950 square meters. The lower floors, from the first to third floors, will be used for retail, the middle floors, from the fourth to tenth floors, will be for offices, and the upper floors, from the eleventh to 28th floors, will be used for a hotel.

Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2019, with completion scheduled for April 2022.
