JR Yokohama Tower and JR Yokohama Tsuruyamachi Building will open in 2020 in the area surrounding the west exit of Yokohama Station, where redevelopment is currently underway.
Further developments are planned for the complex, including NEWoMan Yokohama, CIAL Yokohama, the entertainment complex T-Joy Yokohama, and JR East Hotel Mets Yokohama.
Both facilities are scheduled to open before the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. The commercial zone within JR Yokohama Tower will house NEWoMan Yokohama on floors 1 to 10, CIAL Yokohama on floors B3 to B1, and T-Joy Yokohama on floors 8 to 10. In addition to JR Yokohama Parking, which occupies floors 4 to 9, the JR Yokohama Tsuruyamachi Building will also house the Char Yokohama Annex on floors 1 to 3, JR East Hotel Mets Yokohama on floors 3 to 9, and the Jexer Fitness & Spa Yokohama sports facility on floors 2 and 3.
T-Joy Yokohama, opening in JR Yokohama Tower, will be a multi-purpose entertainment complex that will focus on film screenings, but will also offer a wide range of content, including live theater performances and various public viewing events utilizing the latest video and audio systems, as well as events organized by local businesses and the community, such as lectures, competitions, and recitals. It will also offer a "FOOD CINEMA" experience, where customers can enjoy a variety of bento boxes, prepared foods, and sweets in collaboration with shops in JR Yokohama Tower while watching the movies.
In addition to the existing plans, JR Yokohama Tower will be connected to three adjacent facilities: a north-south connecting walkway from the second basement floor, and a link from the first basement floor to Yokohama Mores and the JR Yokohama Station Central North ticket gates. This will further enhance the pedestrian network, creating smooth routes to various train lines, surrounding facilities, underground shopping malls, plazas, etc., and improving convenience around the station's west exit. To connect to the JR Yokohama Station Central North ticket gates on the first basement floor, a new ticket gate will be built on the first basement floor of JR Yokohama Tower, which is the CIAL Yokohama floor.
