This is the final installment of FASHION HEADLINE's interview series, which coincides with the launch of Ginza Mitsukoshi's dress-up rental app "CARITE." While introducing rental items, the series discusses dress-up concerns by topic. In this sixth installment, stylist Chie Hosonuma and hair and makeup artist Aya Murakami offer a lesson on easy party hairstyles that anyone can pull off.

【Tips.6】I want to try creating a party hairstyle that's easy to do myself!

While it's nice to make an early appointment at the salon for a full hairstyle, adults should try creating their own party hairstyles.

FH Editorial Department (hereinafter referred to as FH): You can definitely get a glamorous hairstyle at the hair salon, but I feel like a perfectly styled party hairstyle is too much for an adult style.

Hair and Makeup Artist Murakami Aya (hereinafter referred to as Murakami):We talked about styled hairstyles in our first talk as well (laughs). It's true that putting your hair up either makes you look childish or older, and doesn't really fit in with a mature, mature look. While the braided hairstyle mentioned above is easy to do and highly recommended, this time we tried a headpiece chosen by Hosonuma.

Stylist Chie Hosonuma (hereinafter, Hosonuma):A headpiece adds a touch of glamour, yet is not too flashy and maintains a chic, mature look.

FH: Headpieces garnered a lot of attention at this year's Royal Wedding! I think they exude intelligence and are very beautiful, but I'm concerned about how difficult it would be to incorporate them into my own style...

Hosonuma:The outfit I coordinated with my TARA JARMON dress is finished off with gloves and a headpiece for a classic look. The overall look isn't particularly unique, and a headpiece generally matches any feminine, dressy style.

FH: It's true that this style has a sense of unity overall, and the headpiece doesn't stand out.

Murakami:For the hairstyle, I just twisted the tied-up hair into a ball. I left the loose strands loose to create a casual look. If you make it too tight, it will give the impression of being sloppy, and the hairstyle will stand out, so be careful about that.

FH: What kind of headpiece should I choose?

Hosunuma:Headband types look childish, so I recommend a type that sits on top, which gives a more elegant finish.

FH: Is there anything else I should be careful about when wearing a headpiece?

Murakami:I'd like you to create a casual atmosphere, but dry hair is a no-no. Pairing a headpiece with dry hair will make you look much older. Use hair oil or gel to give it a nice shine. Also, letting your hair down will give you a girly look, so it's best to add a headpiece to an updo.

FH: If it's so easy to create a glamorous hairstyle, I'd love to try it! By the way, I think short hair and bob hair can be difficult to style for parties. Do you have any advice?

Murakami:If you usually part your hair on the side, try parting it in the center, or vice versa. Just changing your part can completely change the look. Rather than trying to force curls to create a luxurious look, it's a more graceful and recommended idea to enjoy variation with your part. Head dresses look good on people with short or bob hair, so we encourage everyone to give it a try.

Through the eyes of a professional, we have provided real-life solutions to the worries of dressing up for weddings and parties. If you take the advice so far into consideration, it looks like your use of the dress-sharing service app "CARITE" will be even more enjoyable.
