In addition, reservations will begin being accepted from October 3, 2022, for the "3rd Anniversary Accommodation Plan," which includes the "Forest Garden Tea Box Set," an "Outdoor Tea Ceremony Experience," and other special benefits.

Aman Kyoto's aesthetics come together with nature
Paying respect to the traditional culture, history, environment and lifestyles of the land, and understanding them through these experiences, is at the heart of Aman's philosophy. This tea box brings together the aesthetics of a forest garden and nature, supervised by tea master Tairiku Amae, who has been holding outdoor tea ceremonies in the Forest Garden since Aman Kyoto opened. The tea bowls use clay and glaze made from soil collected at Aman Kyoto, and the rich earthen colors that emerge through chemical reactions in nature are as if the scenery being viewed is reflected in the vessel. They were created by Kyoto ceramicist Shiro Shimizu, whose work begins from digging out the clay. The wrapping that carefully wraps the tea bowl is dyed with the water that flows through the premises and the green maple leaves, and the vibrant colors adorn the fabric, bringing to life the natural beauty of the forest.

Mori no Niwa Chabako - Bring Mindfulness into Everyday Life
According to Amae, "The fresh green of the matcha evokes the image of tea fields, the sound of pouring hot water into the tea bowl, and the warmth of holding the tea bowl in your palm. Making tea while paying attention to each and every step is a true meditation, as it sharpens all your senses. The memories that lie dormant in the tea utensils, the invisible parts that become visible, deepen the flavor of the tea." Taking just five minutes a day to escape the hustle and bustle and creating a space in your mind through tea is truly mindfulness. We hope you will incorporate the mindfulness of "making tea for yourself and simply drinking it" into your daily life, while thinking of the tranquil forest garden.

Tea master Amae Dairiku
Born in 1988. He spent his childhood in Korea, Russia, the United States, Syria, and Ukraine. He returned to Japan at the age of 19 to study architecture at a university in Kyoto. Driven by his interest in sukiya-style architecture, he studied the tea ceremony, a comprehensive art form of Japanese culture, and in 2013 launched the tea ceremony platform "Totosha." He elevates traditional tea with a modern interpretation, promoting a lifestyle that incorporates tea to younger generations and foreigners, and conducting awareness-raising activities. He specializes in unconventional outdoor tea ceremonies, and when Aman Kyoto opened in 2019, he held an outdoor tea ceremony event set in a forest garden, captivating guests from Japan and abroad.

What is Outdoor Tea Ceremony?
Outdoor tea ceremonies are tea ceremonies held outdoors, or in the midst of nature. The "Kitano Daichayu," a grand tea ceremony held by Toyotomi Hideyoshi at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine in 1587, is considered an example of this. One of the joys of outdoor tea ceremonies is that they are free from traditional etiquette and formality, and are designed with a different flavor from that of a tea room, allowing host and guest to become one and connect with each other.
