Odakyu Department Store Shinjuku branch is holding its first "Bread Village" event, featuring a selection of breads. From May 23rd to 29th, a wide variety of popular breads will be gathered in the event corner and seasonal sweets section of the grocery store on the second basement floor of the main building.

The event will feature breads and jams from a total of nine stores, from Hokkaido to Okinawa. Limited edition breads from Odakyu Department Store will also be available.

Asparagus Corn Curry (560 yen) Limited to 200 pieces per day

Masuya Shoten, a Hokkaido farmer's bakery (from the 23rd to the 29th), uses 100% Tokachi wheat for all of its bread. Their appetizing "Asparagus Corn Curry" will be available exclusively at Odakyu. This baked curry bread is made with plenty of corn from Tokachi young beef and is topped with a generous amount of seasonal Tokachi asparagus. They will also be demonstrating and selling their "Melty Cheese Bread," made with five types of Tokachi cheese.

Orange Pan (¥250) - Limited to 30 per day

Bonjour Bon, a locally-rooted bakery with locations in Nakano, Kichijoji, Higashimurayama, and Fuchu, will be offering the Odakyu-exclusive "Orange Pan." It combines homemade custard made with Shinshu Sakura eggs with orange peel for a refreshing taste perfect for early summer. Don't miss the rich "Maple Melon Pan," oozing with maple butter.

Croissant (¥378) Limited to 30 per day

Bread & Butter Factory (May 23-29), a Tokyo-based concept bakery themed around bread and butter, offers flavorful breads made with natural yeast and butters from around the world. The croissant, featuring a rich, fragrant, and rich buttery flavor, is available exclusively at Odakyu. The shop's most popular item, the raisin bread, is also a must-have.

Coco Bagel Okinawa Taco Bagel Sandwich (540 yen)

Also, during the first half of the festival, from the 23rd to the 25th, will be Penny Lane, a bakery in Nasu, Tochigi Prefecture, which attracts fans from inside and outside the prefecture, and Setouchi Jams Garden, which produces over 70 varieties of marmalade on Suo-Oshima, a citrus-producing island. From the 23rd to the 26th, Coco Bagel, a specialty store for additive-free bagels made with Okinawan ingredients and Hokkaido wheat, will be available. From the 27th to the 29th, Azabu Juban Montabo, a bakery with its flagship store in Azabu Juban, Tokyo, which has been in business for 42 years, will be available. From the 26th to the 29th, Benoit will be offering handmade scones and tea directly shipped from India and Sri Lanka. Some of the stores will rotate between the first and second halves of the event, making it a must-visit for anyone wanting to return. Additionally, Grand Marble, a Danish pastry specialty store that blends Western flavors with Japanese ingredients, will be offering breads that are popular as gifts, such as the ever-popular "Kyoto Sanshoku" marble Danish, with its exquisite balance of matcha and sweet and sour strawberry.
