Banc Co., Ltd. will be grand opening "Architecture Cafe Sumika," a museum-style cafe for architecture enthusiasts, on April 28, 2021.

Store Interior
"Architecture Cafe Sumika" is Japan's first museum-style cafe where you can enjoy architectural models up close. Aiming to create a space where architecture enthusiasts can gather and talk, we offer realistic models of beautiful buildings. Twelve modern architectural models (total) by world-renowned architects, including Le Corbusier and Kengo Kuma, are displayed at each table. All of the architectural models have been perfectly recreated by Yohei Hayashi, winner of the TV Champion Model Show.

The store is located in Shinjuku 3-Chome, Tokyo, an area with high demand for cafes. With high ceilings and spacious interior, the store is a very comfortable space for people other than architecture enthusiasts. Wi-Fi is available, so teleworking is also possible. In addition to coffee, tea, soft drinks, and alcohol, the store offers fresh chocolates and gateau chocolates from Miho Chef Chocolatier, run by chocolatier Miho Saito, egg sandwiches overseen by Azabu Juban sweet shop Tennoya, and original fruit sandwiches from Suika. The lights are dimmed during bar time from 6:00 PM, transforming the store into a night museum where you can enjoy art and drinks. Architects and real estate specialists are also on-site to assist with architectural and real estate consultations. Visitors can also browse the works of architects and interior designers, and we can help match you with architects and interior designers who may be difficult to connect with on your own. We'll help you realize your dream home.


▶1st Architectural Model Contest Held
To commemorate the grand opening, we will be holding our first architectural model contest with the theme "Jungle Gyms for Children." We are looking for play equipment and jungle gyms that will help children have fun at home during the prolonged stay-at-home period. Anyone who can make models is welcome to apply. Works that pass the first round of selection will be exhibited in-store, and the grand prize winner will receive a prize of 300,000 yen.

Selection method: Entries that pass the initial screening by the selection committee will be exhibited in-store. A popularity vote will be held on Architecture Cafe Sumi-ka's official Instagram and in-store, as well as a selection by the selection committee.
