Entertainer Tomoe Shinohara announced on her blog that she will be designing costumes for singer Yuming, also known as Yumi Matsutoya, for her live tour from this year through next year. When Shinohara appeared as a guest on a radio show hosted by Yuming's husband and producer, Masataka Matsutoya, Matsutoya instinctively asked, "Should I do Yuming?" After hearing the concept for the live stage after the recording, Shinohara drew a design and presented it to Masataka Matsutoya and the staff. "Oh, that's great. I like this. Let's go with this," the decision was quickly made. On the show's website, Masataka Matsutoya commented, "I promised, and without Yuming's permission (laughs). I feel like I can see the image of what she's creating behind Shinohara. I trust that intuition." Designer Keita Maruyama and others have posted congratulatory comments on Shinohara's Twitter. Shinohara is a talent born in Tokyo in 1979. She made her debut as a singer in 1995 with "Chime," produced by Ishino Takkyu, and quickly became popular for her unique character and fashion. A "Shinora" following her style has even emerged. While working as a singer, actress, and TV personality, she has also designed costumes for the live fashion show "Shino Collection: 21 Outfits Designed by 21-Year-Old Shinohara Tomoe for the 21st Century," the stage play "Invitation from an Angel," the musical "Thank You, Cactus Teacher," and the Kids Station program "Monstar Geo." In recent years, she has been designing and sewing her own live costumes, accessories, and stage decorations. This is her first time being in charge of live costumes for an artist.
