Minä perhonen's small department store, "Dear Friend, Department," has opened for a limited time until April 2nd in the event hall on the 7th floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku.

This small department store is packed with everything related to food, clothing, and shelter, including food, furniture, fabrics, bags, clothing, and baby and children's items. The concept of the collection, "Dear Friend," is "feelings of caring for someone special." The lineup features carefully crafted items that complement everyday life spent with close friends and family, created with manufacturers and brands that have long been associated with Minä Perhonen, as well as first-time collaborations with PORTER bags, LIBERTY fabrics, and ANTIPAST socks.

The venue was designed by architect Makoto Koizumi, who has worked on numerous living spaces. The fixtures are made from reusable cardboard and foam steel, and the floors and walls are covered in signature motifs such as "tambourine" and "dop." Minä perhonen designer Akira Minagawa, who visited the store on the opening day, said, "When I was a child, spending the day at a department store with my family buying household items was a special occasion. I had always wanted to turn a department store like that into a sales floor, and this time I was able to make that dream come true, which I believe will be a new experience for customers. I hope that customers who visit 'Dear Friend, Department' will find it a joyful experience and that it will become a part of their memories." She also commented, "The people I'm working with this time are not only known for their commitment to craftsmanship and their reliable quality, but they are also the makers of the items I personally use and treasure in my daily life. This was an opportunity to once again realize the depth and potential of Japanese craftsmanship."
The women's collection features a carefully selected collection of iconic prints and weaves from archive textiles, layered with embroidery to create designs that are fresh, dynamic, yet somehow nostalgic. The collection also includes the comfortable, 100% linen coat "hoshi*hana+land theater" (84,240 yen) and socks in collaboration with Antipasto (2,970 yen each), as well as accessories such as a "daypack" (36,720 yen) and "pouch" (8,640 yen) featuring the "tambourine" pattern, which is the first collaboration with Porter.

The baby line includes a "ceremony dress" (¥86,400) featuring fully embroidered "flower cake" designs, perfect for special occasions like shrine visits. Bags like the convenient 2-way "Mami Bag" (¥38,880) are also available for children. Living goods are the brand's first collaboration with the globally popular Liberty.
