Laforet Harajuku will be featuring yukata from the 1st to the 23rd of next month. Unique yukatas will be on sale at Tsukikageya, which specializes in punk-inspired Edomae yukatas; Yamamoto Yumi Plus, a new brand from haute couture brand Yamamoto Yumi; and Fur Fur, a Tokyo Collection brand.
Tsukikageya will offer Edomae yukatas made with authentic Ise Katagami patterns, dyed using the traditional chusen dyeing technique, and hand-sewn. This year's offerings include the lucky rake yukata, the Edomae Nahira Sei yukata, and the Trump yukata with its dancing card patterns. Swarovski-embellished obi sashes will be available, including a Nishikigoi half-width obi (¥52,500) and a Ranchic chrysanthemum half-width obi (¥68,250). The children's brand "Tsukikage Baby (BABY)" will also make its debut, offering baby-sized yukatas (8,400 yen) with stripes and star patterns.
Yamamoto Yumi Plus will be releasing its first line of original designed ready-to-wear yukatas. A cotton-linen rabbit-patterned yukata (33,600 yen) based on an old German print and a rose obi ornament (9,450 yen) made from Italian fabric will be available exclusively at Laforet Harajuku.
FurFur will also be designing its first yukatas. Distributed by the long-established kimono specialty store "Kimono Yamato," the lineup includes yukatas (30,450 yen) printed with traditional Japanese patterns and designs, such as hand-drawn floral patterns, goldfish patterns, and polka dot patterns. Accessories such as corsages and jewelry will also be offered.
