Kyoto textile manufacturer Hinaya will release the "Dennis Morris Photo Print Kimono" (39,900 yen), part of the 2013 Spring/Summer collection of its kimono brand, "mitasu+," featuring a print of rocker photos by Dennis Morris in the background. The kimono features photos of the Sex Pistols, Patti Smith, The Stone Roses, and Radiohead taken by Dennis, a photographer who has photographed the rock scene and produced numerous music magazine covers. The kimono will be available for presale at Hinaya Kyoto's Kiyomizu Gojozaka Main Store and Isetan Shinjuku from March 6th. It will then be sold at JR Nagoya Takashimaya from April 24th to 30th and at Daimaru Umeda from May 15th to 30th.
Hinaya was founded in 1933 as a manufacturer of obi fabric. Currently, in addition to obi fabric, the company also sells apparel and scarf lines both domestically and internationally, and as a manufacturer that has mastered the kumiori technique, which originated in the 8th century, it is promoting "MADE IN KYOTO" to the world. It also holds the "Textile Marche" event at its directly managed stores.
