Alicia Bay Laurel's "Living on the Earth" exhibition will be held at Gallery Speak For in Daikanyama, Tokyo. The exhibition runs from June 21 to July 3. The artist is scheduled to visit the gallery on July 2.
This exhibition is a re-run of the same-titled exhibition held at the gallery in October 2009, coinciding with her visit to Japan. Approximately 15 original drawings from her 1970 book "Living on the Earth" will be on display and for sale, along with approximately 10 recent drawings. Collaborative T-shirts, merchandise, and music CDs will also be available.
Alicia is an artist who advocates eco-friendly and simple living through her paintings and music. She is also active in Japan, where she has performed live events as part of "kurkku," a project produced by AP Bank that considers the environment and lifestyles. Her books translated into Japanese include "Living on the Earth" and "Living with the Sun" (both published by Soshisha).
