Towada City, Aomori Prefecture, will hold the Towada Oirase Art Festival to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the opening of the Towada Art Center. The festival will run from September 21st to November 24th.
 
The festival will consist of three components: an exhibition, the publication of a concept book, and the holding of seminars. The artistic director will be artist Fuji Hiroshi, deputy director of the Towada Art Center, and the festival aims to create a new art festival that combines the nature of the Towada Oirase area with modern art and culture, with the theme of "Journeys through Various Times." The exhibition will utilize unused facilities in the area, and the artists involved will not only be artists, but also novelists, poets, and those from the theater world.
