"Sound Live Tokyo" to be held this fall, enveloping Tokyo in a variety of sounds

Jun 19, 2013

"Sound Live Tokyo," a festival exploring the possibilities of sound and music expression, will be held in Tokyo from September 16th to October 6th. Tickets go on sale from August 3rd.

A diverse program will be held during the festival, including live performances, installations, and interactive exhibits. This second festival will also feature an open program. Organizations involved in the planning and operation of live music venues and other venues were invited to submit proposals, with proposals from Roppongi's "Super Deluxe" and Harajuku's "VACANT" selected. On September 28th and 29th, Super Deluxe will feature guest performances by Akio Suzuki and Keiji Haino. VACANT will feature Junichi Matsuzaki and Kanta Horio of the "Radio Cassette Mellotron Project."

This festival is part of a cultural dissemination project organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture, in cooperation with arts and culture organizations and arts NPOs. It aims to realize Tokyo as a "global cultural creative city."
