The "IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKE" lighting fixture, winner of the 2013 iF Product Design Gold Award at the German iF Design Awards, often referred to as the "Oscars of the design world," has now been released in Japan.
The lighting fixture was designed and developed by designer Issey Miyake and his research and development team, Reality Lab., and commercialized by Italian lighting manufacturer Artemide. The shade has no frame and is foldable, creating a three-dimensional form. It can be reshaped or folded flat for storage.
The lamp is made from Ecopet Paper, a recycled polyester paper made from recycled polyester fiber "Ecopet" derived from recycled PET bottles. It has the texture and transparency of Japanese paper and better shape retention than regular paper. This is the first time that Ecopet Paper has been used for purposes other than printing.

Available in stand and pendant styles, with a total of nine designs (six available in Japan). Prices range from 54,600 yen to 92,400 yen. 132 5. It will be sold at five stores in Japan: ISSEY MIYAKE AOYAMA, ELTTOB TEP ISSEY MIYAKE / GINZA, ELTTOB TEP ISSEY MIYAKE / SEMBA, hhstyle.com Aoyama flagship store, and Hida Furniture Museum Takayama.

A special exhibition commemorating the release will be held at the two stores, ELTTOB TEP ISSEY MIYAKE / GINZA and SEMBA, until the 30th. The names of these two stores, "ELTTOB TEP," are derived from the letters of "PET BOTTLE," the raw material used to make EcoPET, arranged backwards.
