Teijin Frontier will begin selling eco-friendly "Ecosuits" made with the recycled material "Ecopet Plus" at the Teijin Men's Shop Ginza flagship store on the 24th.
"Ecopet Plus" is a recycled polyester fiber created using Teijin's world-leading new raw material recycling technology. Made from recovered used polyester products, it boasts the same quality as virgin polyester.
The "Ecosuits" feature an outer fabric made from Ecopet Plus and Trixion, a high-quality, wool-like combed polyester fiber. The 100% polyester outer fabric is wrinkle-resistant and easy to care for. Custom-made patterns ensure a secure fit for all body types.
Until now, Teijin Frontier has only sold "Ecosuits" made with Ecopet Plus through workplace sales, primarily to major Teijin Group clients. However, due to overwhelming response, they have begun selling in stores. They aim to penetrate the market as a high-value-added, environmentally friendly suit.
Suits made from "Ecopet," a recycled PET bottle fiber developed by Teijin prior to "Ecopet Plus," are sold by many manufacturers under their own brands as "machine washable suits." While most of these products are in a relatively affordable price range, the "Ecosuit" will be promoted as being high quality in addition to functionality and convenience. Sales prices start from 49,000 yen.
