G-Star and Leica announce a new camera collaboration: compact yet packed with features

Jun 24, 2013

G-STAR RAW has collaborated with German camera manufacturer Leica to announce the Leica D-LUX6 G-STAR RAW Edition (priced at ¥138,600). This special edition of the D-LUX6 compact digital camera features a dotted leather trim on the body, enhancing both design and grip stability. It also comes with a brown leather camera case and a limited-edition strap and hand strap. The camera features a bright f/1.4 Summilux lens. Its large 1/1.7-inch CMOS sensor, a large size for a compact digital camera in its class, allows for both automatic and manual shooting, and also includes full HD video recording capabilities. The camera will be available at Leica stores, boutiques, and authorized dealers from the end of the month. At the official launch, the camera was presented to Anton Corbijn, a rock photographer who has shot G-STAR RAW for many years and whose documentary film has been released. G-Star Raw is a Dutch denim brand founded in 1989. This collaboration is part of a crossover series that has also seen collaborations with Swiss furniture brand Vitra and American bicycle brand Cannondale.
