On January 15th, Dutch denim brand G-Star RAW presented its Fall/Winter 2013 collection at Berlin Fashion Week. Film star Michael Madsen made a surprise appearance at the show, performing an art performance.

The collection featured a color palette of khaki, brown, ink, and indigo, inspired by military and workwear. A new blue-purple denim material, inspired by a Chinese fabric called mazarin, was introduced.

The collection explored 3D denim, creating a three-dimensional silhouette, and experimented with a variety of materials and colors. Two previously popular denim models, the "A-Crotch" and the "Charlie Pants," were reintroduced this season. The Charlie Pants were customized with a 3D design, inspired by 1940s US military pants, emphasizing a loose, high rise, curved knees, and a tapered silhouette. Additionally, heavyweight 20-ounce denim was featured extensively, resulting in A-line jackets and denim pants. In addition to denim, women's skinny pants and Charlie pants made from wool were also announced.

G-Star Raw's show productions often feature surprises, and this time Michael Madsen, who has appeared in films such as "Reservoir Dogs," "Kill Bill," "Fake," and "Sin City," appeared and recited a poem. Other performances included a musical performance by Dutch singer-songwriter Anne Soldat and a ballet performance. Previous performances by Hollywood stars such as Dennis Hopper and Benicio del Toro have also appeared.
