DAKS presented its Spring/Summer 2015 men's collection in Milan. Creative director Filippo Scuffi, sensing the brand's maturity, set the theme as "Deconstruction." He forgoes the house check pattern, which was used lavishly last season, and adds a new dimension to the traditional brand. Even a seemingly traditional double-breasted jacket is styled with one side fastened with a double-D buckle, expressing a new side of the brand. Knitwear is overflowing with graphic art, featuring patterns and colors reminiscent of deconstructed paintings, strongly reflecting the season's mood. Modern materials like leather and satin-finished synthetic resin fibers are used sparingly alongside cotton and silk.
From the location and background of the venue, the combination of colors and materials, to the casting of models of various ages and body types to symbolize London as a melting pot of cultures, the collection may seem chaotic at first glance, but everything has a sense of unity.
