Jaeger appoints former DAKS designer Sheila McCain Wade as new designer

May 15, 2014

British fashion brand JAEGER, acquired by Better Capital in 2012 and currently undergoing a five-year rebranding under CEO Colin Henry, has appointed former DAKS designer Sheila McCain-Waid as its newest designer. For its first full-scale collection, the Fall/Winter 2014 collection, the brand focused on minimalist designs using high-quality materials, highlighting the coat as a quintessentially British piece. McCain-Waid said, "Simplicity makes it easy for women to choose what to wear. We thoroughly considered function and detail, eliminating unnecessary details. The coat has been a central piece in the brand's history, alongside knitwear, and is an essential part of British life. I want to transform a necessity into a luxury."
