The new Zegna undergoes a global hybrid renewal [15SS Men's]

The presentation for the new Z Zegna, which will be relaunched for Spring/Summer 2015, was held in Florence. The presentation, held as a guest designer at Pitti Immagine Uomo 86, combined the formal and athletic concepts of the previous Z Zegna and Zegna Sport collections. Designers Murray Scalone and Paul Surridge formed a partnership. The presentation featured a screen in front of a set reminiscent of the scaffolding of an urban building, with silhouettes of performers free-running (parkour) on the scaffolding, while models walked in front of the screen. This expressed the philosophy of the new project, which revolves around hybrid, sportification, and urban style. The collection featured technical, high-performance fabrics, such as Techno Merino, in a range of urban pieces, from tailoring to sportswear, characteristic of Z Zegna. Basic pieces, such as hooded coats and blousons, were reimagined for a global market, incorporating both functionality and luxury.

Regarding the relaunch of Z Zegna, Gildo Zegna, CEO of the Ermenegildo Zegna Group, commented, "The new Z Zegna aims to establish a solid position in the field of affordable luxury fashion." New stores will open in key locations around the world next spring, and the brand's products will also be sold in department stores, Ermenegildo Zegna's street stores, and the company's own online store.
