Bow ties and shorts—trendy trends for middle-aged fashionistas—are driving the men's season, but the trend is now shifting to younger generations, even reaching the point where junior-aged men are borrowing from them. Animal prints like lions, giraffes, and horses, reminiscent of picture books, as well as large motifs like cars, stationery, and even jellyfish, appear on shirts, knitwear, and jackets in a variety of prints, intarsia, sequins, and appliqué. Styled with pop-colored items like patent leather shorts and checked pants, the "Shotaro" look, which in Japan might be called "shotacon," was presented in a luxurious worldview with a background in Italian craftsmanship in the 2015 Spring/Summer collection by "au jour le jour garçon." It was unveiled at Pitti Italics, a stage supporting young designers at Pitti Immagine Uomo '86.

"Au Jour Le Jour," which debuted in 2010, is a duo consisting of Mirko Fontana and Diego Marquez, both of whom have experience as PR and marketing directors in the fashion industry. They rose to fame in 2011 when they were selected as a finalist in Italian Vogue's "Who's On Next." In February of this year, they were selected for Giorgio Armani's designer training program, and presented their women's line in Milan as the official runway for the Italian Fashion Council.

The men's collection presented this time was known as the "Garçon" (boys') line, and a women's line with the same theme was also introduced. The show venue was decorated with painted elementary school desks and chairs, and guests were seated on them, in keeping with the theme of the collection. After use, the desks were donated to Italian schools. Pitti Uomo, known as the home of Italian classic fashion, has been home to designers such as Marcelo Burlon and Stella Jean, but it is interesting to see the new trend at Pitti Uomo, which provides a stage for young Italian designers who present pop and edgy lines.
