A colorful journey around the world, featuring resort style for adults [London Collection: Men's Final Day]

Jul 11, 2014

The third day of London Fashion Week: Men's kicked off with the show of E.TAUTZ, which showcased a luxurious, grown-up holiday style inspired by Brighton, Britain's most famous beach. A parka with wide stripes was made from a wool and silk blend and coordinated with pinstripe shorts. Denim items also stood out, including a sleeveless denim jacket and wide-leg denim pants. A parka made from a nylon and silk blend was paired with a tailored jacket and shorts. E-Touts 15SS Collection

With teenagers in mind, expressing themselves through their clothing and showing off their membership in a particular group, SIBLING presented a collection that blended roughness, cuteness, and color, reminiscent of a modern SIBLING take on punk and gothic. Body-hugging knitwear featured a series of floral motifs, paired with mohawk-like hairstyles and knitted face masks. Knitwear with long fringes that drape all over the garments gradually became more exaggerated, eventually resulting in a look with an oversized, pom-pom-like silhouette. The skull motif, essential for teenage self-expression, was needle-punched large on the front of the top, adding a cute touch. The shoes, a collaboration with Robert Clergerie, are similar in shape to the Dr. Martens 8-eyelet boots beloved by punks, but with a refined finish.

After three seasons of showing at the collaborative show for newcomers, Craig Green held his first solo show. The collection, dressed entirely in solid colors like white, black, and green, was dominated by mysterious pieces, such as overpants with open sides and dangling strings, layered tops that made it difficult to determine where each piece ended, and even a large piece of fabric framed in a wooden frame that resembled a ship's sail, attached to the back. The second half of the show also featured classic pieces like oversized knitwear and wide-leg pants, creating a collection unique to the brand that showcased the designer's unique style.

NASIR MAZHAR, which has developed its collections based on sportswear by incorporating various elements, turned its attention to formalwear this season. Shirts were layered asymmetrically and paired with boxer shorts, creating a new proposal in which silk was reborn as a sports item. Nazir Mazar 15SS Men's Collection

This season, Burberry Prorsum presented a vibrant collection inspired by 1940s typography and book covers, as well as travel writer Bruce Chatwin, known for his essay book "Patagonia." As up-and-coming musician Benjamin Clementine played piano and sang, models walked in coats and jackets crafted from suede in vibrant shades of purple, green, and blue, paired with denim innerwear, carrying large notebooks and bags with printed text on leather. The slightly wrinkled hats are also in vibrant yellow and green. Suede and knit outerwear are prominent in this Spring/Summer collection, perhaps reflecting the brand's travels to diverse climates around the world. Military coats, short duffle coats, and field jackets stand out more than the brand's signature trench coats. The outerwear is exclusively made from natural materials like suede, linen, and cashmere, with denim being used as a durable alternative to cotton gabardine. Perhaps Christopher Bailey's first show since assuming the role of CEO of Burberry was a declaration of his commitment to preserving the brand's traditions while ushering in a new era.
