
Actress and model Sumire was born on July 15, 1990, in Tokyo. She is the eldest daughter of Junichi Ishida and Chiaki Matsubara, and moved to Hawaii at the age of seven. She debuted as a model in 2006 and appeared on television shows such as "Matsuken, Imachan, and Othello's GO!GO! Sata." In 2009, she entered Carnegie Mellon University's Drama Department. While there, she starred in university-sponsored musicals such as "Strange Snow" and "Shakespeare's Twelfth Night." However, due to a student ban on showbiz activities, she took a leave of absence in 2011 to pursue a full-time career in showbiz. Shortly after her debut, she guest-starred on the British vocal group Il Divo's album "WICKED GAME." She made her singing debut with the bonus track "Crying." In 2013, she released her major label debut single "Season in the Sun" and her second single "Tasogare no Begin." In 2014, she held her first live concert at Yamaha Hall.
