May 30, 2014

To celebrate its 130th anniversary, BVLGARI held a party at the Amimachi Mitsui Club in Tokyo on May 29th. Hollywood actress Uma Thurman, known for her roles in films such as "Kill Bill," attended the event. This was her first visit to Japan in several years, and she appeared wearing a BVLGARI necklace, earrings, rings, and other jewelry worth a total of ¥30 million. She commented on the pieces, "They're perfect in terms of elegance, and there's no diamond more beautiful than this. Even among BVLGARI's many iconic pieces, I think they represent a level of beauty that's hard to come by." Junichi Ishida's daughter, actress and singer Sumire, also appeared wearing jewelry worth a total of ¥79.5 million. The necklace was made of 256 colored sapphires, displaying a diverse range of 16 shades of blue alone. "Jewelry is valued for its colorful youthfulness, but there are also refreshing colors that are perfect for summer, and vibrant pinks that bring out a feminine charm," he said.

Others who attended the event, including entertainer Panzetta Girolamo and actress Shinobu Terajima and her husband, each wore Bulgari jewelry to celebrate the anniversary. Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of the Bulgari Group, commented, "With the grand opening of our flagship store in Rome, 2014 will be an important year for Bulgari."
