Zadig & Voltaire x Tsukasa Otake hold live painting event at Aoyama store

Mar 31, 2015

On March 24th, Zadig et Voltaire held a live window painting event by artist Tsukasa Otake at its Aoyama store.

Tsukasa Otake is an artist affiliated with the contemporary art gallery Yamamoto Gendai. He studied traditional Japanese painting at Kanazawa College of Art and other institutions, and in recent years has been painting uniquely Japanese motifs, such as yokai (ghosts) and beckoning cats, with vibrant colors and a light touch.

Zadig et Voltaire founder Thierry Gillier was so impressed by Otake's work that he collaborated with him on the 14 Spring/Summer collection. This season, he also presented a collection incorporating Otake's work into textiles.

This live painting event was made possible through this relationship. The window paintings will be on display until April 19th.
