Manolo Blahnik launches sock collection inspired by his birth

Mar 31, 2015

On March 26th, Manolo Blahnik released a limited-edition capsule collection with FALKE, a long-established German sock manufacturer founded in 1895. The collection draws inspiration from Manolo Blahnik's own biography, including memories of playing tennis with his family. It also incorporates his passion for pairing socks with high heels. The collection consists of three unisex socks. The heather gray ribbed socks with pink pompoms were inspired by the decorative curtains in his Spanish home. The socks, inspired by a polka-dot dress worn by Manolo's mother, feature fuchsia accents. Meanwhile, the sporty socks feature the words "Keep Going" embroidered in pink, a phrase Manolo often uses when asked about his life motto.

Regarding this collaboration, Manolo said, "Socks can connect your feet to your outfit, and sometimes they can also serve as an accent. I have a wide selection of socks in a variety of colors and materials, and by combining patterns and textures, you can enjoy a variety of styles."

These items will be available exclusively from the online shop of Caroline Issa's magazine "because," from March 26th. "because" launched as an online magazine six years ago and now provides the latest fashion news, trends, beauty, culture, and more. Furthermore, through its in-house developed app, "Fashion Scan," the magazine is innovatively linked to the magazine's digital content.

As part of the collaboration, Manolo Blahnik and "because" have produced a short video showcasing the brand's men's and women's shoes from its Autumn 2015 collection, paired with Falke socks.
