Vivienne Westwood will open its first flagship store in New York in the fall of 2015. This will be the brand's third US store, following stores in Los Angeles and Honolulu. Located in the heart of Manhattan's luxury shopping district, Midtown, the store occupies a pre-war townhouse. The six-story building, built in the French Beaux-Arts style, boasts approximately 4,500 square meters of floor space, the brand's largest to date. The store embodies the brand's new design concept, "combining modern and classic styles with a distinctive British style." The three-floor store will offer a wide range of ready-to-wear and accessory lines from Gold Label, Red Label, Anglomania, and Man. Other items on display will include demi-couture pieces from the bridal collection and the Gold Label capsule collection. An evening wear salon will also be available for fittings. Additionally, the store will sell carefully selected items from its unique collections that are normally only available at the London boutique, World's End.
Commenting on the opening, creative director and design partner Andreas Kronthaler said, "I always wanted New York to be our second flagship location after London, so this is a wish come true. New York has spectacular scenery, and the Metropolitan Museum is definitely part of that. The building we chose for our store has a great atmosphere and is the perfect location."
