On March 25th, jewelry brand Bijou de M opened its first flagship store in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo. The address is 5-12-3 Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Founded in 2011 by Japanese female designer Miou, the brand has previously sold its products in select shops and pop-up stores in major department stores. Committed to the highest quality, the brand uses only materials carefully selected by the designer herself, and skilled Japanese artisans use traditional techniques to create intricate and beautiful shapes. Many of the designs are inspired by animals and landscapes in nature, emphasizing the "kawaii" (cute) aesthetic that women associate with pop, colorful, and decorative styles. Located off Antique Street, the store offers a secluded retreat away from the hustle and bustle. The interior is coordinated in the brand's colors of ivory, silver, and off-white, and all fixtures are fully custom-made. In addition to existing series, the store will also feature high-end lines, including bridal wear, as well as the entire "Bijou de M~May" line, a daily line named after Miou's daughter. The lineup offers a balanced mix of adorable motifs, such as flowers, insects, and fish, as well as rock designs featuring national flags and initials. All earrings are single-ear designs, allowing for the enjoyment of mixing and matching favorite designs. With a graphic designer father and a jewelry designer mother, Miou has been exposed to high-quality craftsmanship since childhood. Encouraged by her mother, she began making jewelry at the age of 20, and her first creation was the brand's iconic rabbit diamond ring. She chose the white rabbit she kept as a child as a motif, inspired by her desire to "create something she loves."
"Bijoux de M offers high-quality pieces that can be passed down from mother to daughter and can be loved for a lifetime. We would like people who have worn a variety of jewellery and who know the real thing to pick them up. Also, by stocking Bijoux de M May, which is easy to incorporate into everyday outfits, we have broadened our range, so we hope that people will enjoy discovering jewellery in our relaxed salon," says Miou.
