Tokyu Land Corporation will open Q Plaza Harajuku, a new landmark connecting Shibuya and Omotesando, on March 27th. The facility's concept is "A place where you can change who you are." A preview was held on the 25th.
Located along Meiji Dori, the facility is an urban commercial facility that takes advantage of its lush surroundings and stunning views. It is located on the largest site in the Jingumae intersection area. The architectural design was handled by Klein Dytham Architects, who also designed Daikanyama T-Site, and the building's striking exterior features vivid colors as accents.
The building offers a diverse lineup of 16 tenants, primarily cafes and restaurants. The wedding building, which features a terrace stretching from the basement to the second floor, houses the wedding venue and restaurant complex "HARMONIE SOLUNA." The open space allows for events and parties to be enjoyed.
The main building has 11 floors above ground and 1 basement floor, with beauty salons and relaxation facilities on the basement floor. On the basement floor, Warren Tricomi New York, a New York hair salon run by Edward Tricomi, the inspiration for the film Edward Scissorhands, will open its first store in Japan. Tricomi oversaw all of the interior design and background music, and the store is furnished with fixtures created in collaboration with Danish interior design shop BoConcept. Tricomi, who visited Japan to celebrate the opening, said, "Just as children have their own personalities, each salon also has its own personality. We are very pleased with the finished product of our Japanese stores." On the first and second floors, Urban Research's fast fashion brand, SENSE OF PLACE, will open as the brand's largest flagship store, housing the flower shop BLOMSTER SENSE OF PLACE, the smoothie and coffee shop greenbar, and the cafe TINY GARDEN KITCHEN. TINY GARDEN KITCHEN offers specially selected sandwiches and other items, and offers a wide selection of groceries sourced from Japan and overseas.
Floors 3 to 11 are lined with cafes and restaurants, including new establishments such as cafe and teppan grill "GOODMORNING CAFE&GRILL KYURI," international dining bar "SMITH," entertainment cafe "AREA-Q" where you can enjoy content such as music and anime, and steak and bar "SIXMARS Steak&Bar" inspired by New York's Meatpacking District. Among the first restaurants to open in the area are SHUTTERS Omotesando, a casual Italian restaurant known for its 100% domestic pork spare ribs and apple pie ala mode made with 100% domestic apples, ALOHA TABLE Hawaiian Sweets & Tapas, a Hawaiian cafe and dining establishment, D'elices tarte & cafe, and pizzeria CANTERA. The Original PANCAKE HOUSE, a long-established pancake shop from Oregon, is opening its second location after its first in Kichijoji. In addition to pancakes, including the popular signature "Dutch Baby" (1,240 yen), a pancake made with German dough topped with homemade whipped butter, lemon, and powdered sugar, the restaurant also offers crepes and French toast. An original dinner menu will also be available at the Harajuku store.
All stores are glass-walled, letting in natural light, and many have terrace seating, allowing you to enjoy your meal in an open space.
