Shibuya's new shopping mall, made up of stacks of boxes, will open in 2016

Dec 22, 2014

Hulic, a real estate company, has announced that it will open a new commercial facility in Shibuya. The address is 83-4-5-6 Udagawacho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. The opening is scheduled for autumn 2016.

The site area is 282.46 square meters, and the total floor space is planned to be 2,016.43 square meters. The structure is expected to have two basement floors and 10 floors above ground. It is located on a corner lot along Inokashira Street near the Tokyu Hands Shibuya store, a highly visible and bustling location. Taking advantage of the location's potential as a cultural hub in Shibuya, the facility aims to become a commercial facility that disseminates trends, information, and style. The architectural design is by ETHNOS, an architectural firm based on Kiyoshi Sakurai, who also worked on Izumi Garden in Roppongi. A facade perspective of randomly stacked boxes has been unveiled.
