Sanyo Shokai, a comprehensive fashion apparel company, has opened "Sanyo Ginza Tower" (8-8-9 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a complex in Tokyo's Ginza district that brings together the company's brands. The building features "Mirror Object Signage" and "teamLab Camera" by teamLab.
"Mirror Object Signage" is a digital signage comprised of multiple 3D mirror objects. This striking piece of interior design normally functions as a mirror, but when a person approaches, the display inside reacts and begins to play a video.
The screen displays photos and videos of Sanyo Shokai's brands. Images of "rain" are sometimes displayed, evocative of Sanyo Shokai's origins in raincoats. Automatically generated raindrops play different sounds as they fall, depending on their position. The signage also offers a unique visual experience, displaying different photos for each object or linking the entire screen to play a single video.
Also introduced this time is the "teamLab Camera," a digital signage that is linked to Facebook. When you touch the start button, a frame appears on the screen and shooting begins. The photos taken are automatically processed, and the finished photos are uploaded to the official Sanyo Ginza Tower website and a special Facebook page. Photos can also be freely downloaded and shared.
