"Starry Sky Illumination" to be held at Roppongi Hills Observatory, where you will be enveloped in a 360-degree starry sky

Sep 25, 2015

"Starry Sky Illumination," featuring a combination of real and virtual starry skies against the metropolitan nightscape, will be held at the Roppongi Hills observation deck, Tokyo City View, from November 7th to December 25th.
The planetarium area, overseen by Takayuki Ohira, creator of the super planetarium "MEGASTAR," will feature "Galaxy Walkway," a galactic path that uses data from nearly 100 million stars in the Milky Way galaxy to create an infinite starry sky. Also, "Starry Sky Illumination by MEGASTAR," a planetarium that even recreates the aurora, will feature projection mapping, allowing you to control the stars floating in the night sky with your smartphone. Experience a romantic evening enveloped in a 360-degree starry sky, right in Roppongi.
At the same time, the Roppongi Astronomy Club "Stargazing Party" will be held on the rooftop "Sky Deck" of Mori Tower, where you can search for winter constellations with astronomy experts. The event will be held every Saturday during the "Starry Sky Illumination" period, and as a special event, there will also be a Geminid meteor shower observation event, one of the three major meteor showers, which this year is said to offer the best viewing conditions in recent years.
