Giant Tanabata decorations made with thousands of pixiv illustrations appear at Roppongi Hills

Jun 17, 2014

The "pixiv Tanabata Tanzaku Festival" will be held at Roppongi Hills Tokyo City View Observatory Gallery 1 to celebrate the illustration communication service "pixiv" surpassing 10 million users. The event will run from July 1st to July 7th.

"Pixiv" is a social networking service specializing in the posting and viewing of illustrations. The event will combine tanzaku-shaped illustrations posted to "Pixiv" into a giant art exhibit. A 5-meter-tall "fukinagashi" (windsock) Tanabata decoration will be created. This will be a giant Tanabata art piece created by thousands of users.

Submissions for tanzaku-shaped illustrations will be accepted on a special pixiv website from June 16th to June 23rd. All submitted tanzaku illustrations will be placed among the Tanabata decorations.
