The name of the "Ginza 5-chome Project (tentative)" has been decided to be "Tokyu Plaza Ginza"! Opening on March 31st, with 125 stores

Dec 14, 2015

The Ginza 5-chome Project (tentative name), a large-scale commercial facility to open at the Sukiyabashi intersection in Ginza, Tokyo, has been named "Tokyu Plaza Ginza" and is scheduled to open on March 31, 2016.

The facility was built with the concept of "Creative Japan - The world gets more interesting from here." The exterior design incorporates the traditional craft of Edo Kiriko. An escalator provides direct access to the third floor on the intersection side, and an entrance is located on the Miyuki-dori side. The building's basement has a parking lot with approximately 170 spaces.

The facility, which spans 11 floors above ground and 5 floors below ground, will house 125 stores. The first and second basement floors will house approximately 30 stores, including a variety store that's fun to browse and food outlets offering both takeout and eat-in options. The lineup includes THE CITY BAKERY, a long-established bakery immensely popular among New Yorkers, and Caviar House & Prunier Sandwich House, popular for their "luxury sandwich" concept and opening their first locations in Japan. Tully's Coffee Prime Five, Tully's Coffee's first bar-style establishment, will be the largest in Tokyo with approximately 100 seats.

The first and second floors will be home to a variety of brand flagship stores, select shops, and an event square. BALLY, with its facade designed by a world-renowned architect, will be among the stores opening, including CRUCIANI, EDWARD GREEN, HACKETT LONDON, STRASBURGO, HUNTER, and GLOBE-TROTTER. Also appearing will be METoA Ginza, where Mitsubishi Electric regularly hosts interactive events, and PARLA, a popular spot for authentic crepes aimed at adults.

Floors 3 to 5 will feature approximately 40 stores, including fashion, lifestyle goods, and cafes, aimed at authentic-minded adults. These include a new Pierre Herme store, the first Japanese store of British brand SUNSPEL, and marumasu, a scarf brand created by a long-established dyeing factory founded in 1901 that combines tradition with modernity. Parts of the third to fifth floors will also house Tokyu Department Store's new select store, HINKA RINKA, covering approximately 2,000 square meters. The lineup of participating stores includes Cobieta and Gianni Carini, making their Japan debuts, as well as Maggie Coupe, Rikabu, and Cacao Market by Maribel, making their Kanto debuts. The sixth and seventh floors are dedicated to the world-renowned authenticity of Japan, featuring IKIJI, a men's fashion brand from Sumida, Tokyo's downtown district, incorporating the elegance of Edo, and the first brick-and-mortar store of Fujimaki Department Store, an online shopping site showcasing exceptional Japanese products. The eighth and ninth floors, home to Tokyo's largest airport-style duty-free store, Lotte Duty Free Ginza, will offer a selection of luxury brands, including fashion, jewelry, watches, and cosmetics. The tenth and eleventh floors will be home to 20 restaurants, including Nemuro Hanamaruya, a gourmet conveyor-belt sushi restaurant serving carefully selected seasonal fish; Tsurutontan's new business, Tsurutontan UDON NOODLE Brasserie; and THE APOLLO, a modern Greek restaurant from Sydney. The sixth floor and rooftop will also feature public spaces where visitors can relax. The KIRIKO LOUNGE on the 6th floor regularly hosts cultural events in collaboration with Bunkamura, a cultural complex in Shibuya. The rooftop open terrace, KIRIKO TERRACE, is made up of two zones: the GREEN SIDE, which is impressive for its lush greenery, and the WATER SIDE, which features a large water basin.
