Sydney-based healthy and modern Greek restaurant Apollo opens its first Japanese branch at Tokyu Plaza Ginza

On March 31, 2016, THE APOLLO, a modern Greek restaurant from Sydney, Australia, will open on the 11th floor of Tokyu Plaza Ginza, located in the Sukiyabashi district of Ginza, Tokyo. Opened in 2011 by Greek-Australian owners Sam and Jonathan, Apollo offers a modern take on healthy Greek cuisine, featuring plenty of fresh vegetables, seafood, and olive oil, set within a simple yet cool interior featuring a long counter. Greek cuisine, known as "Greek food," is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with Italian and Spanish cuisine. Its focus is on seafood, grains, dairy products, vegetables, and fruits, with a small amount of meat and olive oil. Other healthy dishes include Greek yogurt, feta cheese made with goat's milk, and juicy charcoal-grilled meats.

The menu lineup includes "Taramasalata," pita bread served in a pizza box dipped in tarama dip, "Greek salad" with feta cheese and olive oil, and "charcoal-grilled lamb" served with a sauce made from Greek yogurt, olive oil, and cucumber. The restaurant has been awarded "The Australia Hot 50 Restaurants" for three consecutive years, and has been selected as one of "Australia Gourmet Traveler's" top 100 for four consecutive years, and is also highly popular with Hollywood stars.

This restaurant, which marks its first location in Japan, will offer a wide variety of charcoal-grilled dishes, including lamb, Australian beef, and Wagyu beef, in addition to the menu items available in the home country.
