The pastry shop at the Hyatt Regency Tokyo hotel in Shinjuku, Tokyo, is hosting a "Valentine's & White Day - The Temptation of Cacao" event from January 26th to March 14th. During this period, they'll be offering a variety of chocolate-based sweets perfect for adults, showcasing the bitter and savory flavors of cacao. The "Five Kinds of Chocolate Macarons" (1,400 yen) best embodies this concept. Made with Arriba Nacional cacao, which combines a rich flavor reminiscent of banana and forest air with aromas of jasmine and citrus and a pleasantly bitter aftertaste, the three varieties feature different cacao content and milk blends. Additionally, there's the "Sambirano 75%" bitter chocolate, made with Criollo chocolate for its berry flavor and acidity, and the "Sulderago 75%," which offers a powerful cacao flavor, for a total of five macarons. The diverse flavors of chocolate, including sweetness, bitterness, sourness, and aroma, are all revealed here.
Other items in the lineup include "Nama Chocolate" (1,000 yen), "Tranche Orange" (1,100 yen), and "Chocolat d'Amour" (2,800 yen), offering a variety of bite-sized chocolate treats. "Noir" (2,700 yen) is a chocolate cake with a sponge cake infused with Rémy Martin V.S.O.P., creating an exquisite blend of cocoa and cognac. It also features a layer of ganache made with the finest Italian chocolate from Domori, layered with almond-infused chocolate biscuits.
The Hyatt Regency Tokyo will be hosting the "Camprini Sweets Fair" from January 26th to March 31st. M.O.F.-awarded chocolatier Christian Camprini will be serving up a limited-edition sweets course and petit gateaux. Of these, two limited edition chocolates will be on sale at the pastry shop from among the items available at the event.
"Bar Chocolat 'Mini Midi'" (2,000 yen) is a chocolate bar that comes in four flavors: apricot, raspberry, coconut lime, and passion fruit. The caramel ganache filling uses fruit puree instead of cream. Meanwhile, "Chusset" (600 yen) is a chocolate stick topped with macaron dough and marshmallows, each with a different texture that makes it a fun and casual gift.
