Valentine's Day gifts from the Imperial Hotel, created by the world's best chocolatier

Jan 12, 2015

Gargantua, a boutique located inside the Imperial Hotel, will release a limited-time Valentine's Day cake, "Coeur de Chocolat" (800 yen), on February 1st.

This cake was specially created by the Imperial Hotel's chocolatier. The raspberry and almond base is decorated with a chocolate mousse flavored with strawberry and orange, then coated in dark chocolate. Topped with a granular cookie called "streusel," it's a delicious cake.

The boutique also has a wide selection of gifts perfect for Valentine's Day. From "Bonbon Chocolat," a chocolate assortment created by world-class chocolatier Yukio Ichikawa, comes the new "Bar" (2,100 yen). This unique assortment features popcorn-flavored and caramel popcorn-flavored ganache, each coated in chocolate. The lineup also includes six bonbons, including "Assorti Noir" (2,200 yen), which encapsulates a variety of flavors in dark chocolate, and "Assorti Le" (2,200 yen), which is coated in milk chocolate. Some unique flavors are available, such as "Dandyism" (2,500 yen), which evokes a sophisticated man with its bitter ganache and white pepper flavor. The nationwide delivery box gift also offers Valentine's Day-perfect items, such as the chocolate cake "Grand Classic Chocolat" (10,000 yen) and the roasted almonds coated in candy and chocolate "Almond Chocolat" (1,500 yen). One of the highlights is the limited-edition bonbon "Pure" (2,500 yen), commemorating the 125th anniversary of the store's opening. This bonbon captures the rich flavor and aroma of Taketsuru whiskey, making it the perfect gift for adults.

In addition, Gargantua is currently selling three types of bread, including "Chocolate and Hazelnut Brioche" (1,500 yen) and "Chocolate Scone" (600 yen), for a limited time only until February 28th for Valentine's Day.
