"Zetsu-Zetsumei: Encounters with Fashion" will be held at the Parco Museum in Shibuya, Tokyo, from March 19th to 30th.
This exhibition is a sequel to "Zetsumei: Fashion and Unexplored Lands," held in 2013. The exhibition, which changed daily, with displays such as "Day of Life" featuring live models and "Day of Death" featuring mannequins, attracted large crowds every day. It has received high praise from the industry, including winning the Mainichi Fashion Grand Prix Special Award.
"Zetsu-Zetsumei: Encounters with Fashion" is produced by Yoshikazu Yamagata of writtenafterwards and Mikio Sakabe of Mikio Sakabe. In addition, emerging designers and artists such as Tomoko Aoki, Takeshi Otsuki, Shuko Nakazato, Ryota Murakami, Kotona Yamashita, Kotoha Yokozawa, Keisuke Yoshida, and Daniel Sanwald have announced their participation.
In regards to the opening of the exhibition, Yamagata Yoshikazu commented, "Fashion is a living thing. And by dying, it becomes new life and hope for the next generation. By 'cutting off' the Zetsumei exhibition, which gave us a hint for creating that ray of hope, we wanted to see a bigger, purer light. The Zetsu Zetsumei exhibition is an exhibition where you can experience the very life energy of fashion."
