The seventh annual women's joint exhibition, "Accent," was held at the Osaka Kaikan in Honmachi, Osaka, for three days from January 29th to 31st. This year's exhibitors significantly expanded, with 32 companies, including Yuushin Creation, Sunwell's Le Verophonna, Dream's Kam Kam, Freya Creation, and Mark Styler's Han Ansung. Han Ansung, in particular, made its first appearance at an Osaka joint exhibition since moving to Mark Styler.
Sunwell's Le Verophonna introduced brightly colored items for its spring collection, while its summer collection offered summer darks like black, gray, and khaki. Skirts offer better movement than pants for spring bottoms, with reversible skirts—with a striped front and gingham check lining—particularly popular. The brand analyzed, "The popularity of colored and patterned skirts this spring may be a reaction to the popularity of colored and patterned pants last spring and summer." Freya International launched a new brand this spring, "Jebushka." It offers a girly, feminine style for women in their 30s and 40s. Rather than focusing on simplicity, the brand offers products with added detail and cutwork. The brand aims to sell its products through specialty stores. "Kamkam" is a women's casual brand with a West Coast American feel launched by Dream last spring/summer. This will be the brand's first exhibition in Osaka. Inspired by the surfing mecca of the American West Coast, the brand offers maxi-length dresses, sweatpants and sweat hoodie sets, and swimsuits. As a company originally a swimwear manufacturer, the brand's strength lies in its authentic swimwear, which goes beyond mere fashion items. The target audience is women in their 30s. "Han Ansung" offers a colorful palette for Spring/Summer 2014. While this spring's collection featured trompe l'oeil-like, fake layered pieces, the summer collection emphasizes comfort with sweatshirt material and offers sizeless pieces with a relaxed fit. Prime Mission, which specializes in bags and belts, is seeing strong sales of colorful synthetic leather bags priced under 20,000 yen. The secret to their popularity is the value-for-money combinations and the fact that they come with an inner sub-bag, are set with a pouch, or can be used reversibly.
