Takisada Nagoya will be focusing on wool-related materials for Winter 2014. With wool melton coats gaining attention in the domestic women's trend zone this fall and winter, the brand predicts that trend will become even more prevalent next winter.
While melton is the focus of women's apparel in Japan, shaggy is gaining popularity in Europe and the United States, so the brand has deliberately promoted shaggy and brushed materials.
Of the four groups introduced at the Fall/Winter Preview Exhibition, the brand will be focusing in particular on the "Balmy Heart" group, which brings together shaggy, brushed, and animal-hair-blend knit materials. Soft, brushed wool-based materials will be proposed in colors based on beige, pink, rose, and red. In a more unusual twist, the brand will also offer soft crepe with a cupra blend and soft melton, a trend in Japan this fall and winter.
In terms of material sales this fall and winter, wool woven materials including soft melton were generally selling well, with light and airy materials such as alpaca and mohair blends gaining popularity. Airy materials were also popular in knitwear, with strong demand for cardboard knitwear and 3D jacquard knitwear.
