The Geneva-based Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH) will hold the exhibition "Telling Time: The History of Timepieces / From the Birth of Sundials to the Mechanisms of Modern Complications" at umu in Roppongi Hills from February 7th to 12th.
This is the Tokyo version of "THE MASTERY OF TIME," an exhibition that has been held in five cities around the world since October 2012: Mexico, London, Paris, Geneva, and Hong Kong. Approximately 100 exhibits, some of which are being shown in Japan for the first time, will showcase the evolution of timepiece technology and decoration, from sundials to table clocks, pocket watches, and wristwatches. In Japan, a special exhibition will be held: a Japanese clock made in the late Edo period, "A Tower Clock with Two Heavenly Heads and an Alarm" (owned by the Seiko Museum).
The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH) was founded in 2005 with the aim of promoting the tradition and innovation of timepieces. Currently, together with 27 partner brands such as TAG HEUER, JAEGER-LE COULTRE, and VACHERON CONSTANTIN, the company is active internationally to widely introduce the cultural and traditional world of watches.
